Artturi Aalto started studying cello in 2006 at Espoo’s music academy under the direction of Jan Cibulka, after which he became Tuija Vainio‘s student. Since 2013, he has studied at the Sibelius Academy’s youth department under the direction of Timo Hanhinen, and since autumn 2018 as a student of Marko Ylönen. He has participated in many master classes and also received chamber music lessons.

Aalto has performed, among other things, as a soloist with the Tapiola Youth Symphony Orchestra, as a soloist with the Tapiola Sinfonietta, with the Turku Soitannolline severa orchestra, and as a soloist with the RSO under conductors such as Klaus Mäkelä and Hannu Lintu.

He has also called e.g. At Sibafest, Kamarikesä festival, VocalEspoo festival and Naantali music festival. In addition, Aalto has performed as a solo musician in the Finnish National Theatre’s production of Death in Venice together with actors Jukka Puotila and Jukka-Pekka Palo.
