Viola player Tommi Aalto and his excellent talent for ensemble work brings him to Lux Musicae’s 2024 artist group.
Like many of his colleagues, Aalto began his studies with the violin switched to the viola as a teenager. After completing a degree in Cologne, he has performed actively in various ensembles such as the Jean Sibelius Quartet and the Finnish Chamber Orchestra.
Aalto has also taught young viola players at the Sibelius Academy for decades. Additionally, he has recorded the Eero Hämeenniemi’s Viola Concerto with the RSO conducted by Hannu Lintu.
