Teppo Koivisto has had a varied career as a pianist. After Sibelius Academy he studied at Indiana University and in Paris and was invited by the French government to the Mautice Ravel International Academy on a scholarship. Competition success has come from the Ilmari Hannikainen and Maj Lind competitions and from Oslo.
Currently Koivisto works as a lecturer in piano music at the Art University’s Sibelius Academy. Other jobs over the years have been keyboard player for RSO, pianist for Avant, jury member for piano competitions and various expert positions as a commentator for YLE. He was also a professor at the Hannover Musikhochschule from 2015 to 2016.
Koivisto has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician in Finland as well as several European countries and the United States, performed as a soloist with major Finnish orchestras and made numerous radio and TV recordings.
