Pami Karvonen is known as a passionate multi-talented musician. He has always been interested in the union of words and music. In Summer evenings gone past, the people of Siuntio enjoyed poems chosen and performed by him, with piano compositions to match.
The choirmaster of the Finnish-speaking parish of Siuntio also came up with the idea for Lux Musicae, which combined the light of music with the darkness of November. The atmosphere at Lux Musicae has been unique ever since. The concert-goer will experience becoming a part of the changing seasons, the centuries-old spirit of St. Peter’s Church in Siuntio and the soothing power of music. He was the artistic director of Lux Musicae for the first decade.
Karvonen developed the Rest in Church concept in collaboration with therapist Tommi Sarlin, the establishment of the Siuntio Vineyard, the Singing Academy in collaboration with Johanna Rusanen-Kartano, and many more alongside his work as a choir director, teacher and other duties.
Karvonen is also a performing artist. He has given concerts in Hong Kong, mainland China and extensively in Finland. He has also recorded with Johanna Rusanen-Kartano, Ville Rusanen and Riikka Hakola.
