The baritone Jussi Lehtipuu has studied singing at the Sibelius Academy and at the opera academy in Amsterdam. In addition to the operas, Lehtipuu is also active as a singer in church music. He lives in the Netherlands, which has a vital canton and orator tradition. He has also performed in France as a soloist with the ensembles Les Talens Lyriques and Ensemble Matheus.
Jussi Lehtipuu has performed many important works of contemporary music. In Amsterdam’s opera he sang in Claude Vivier Kopernikus. In spring 2016 in Portugal he performed the stage Play, composed by Jamie Man and produced by Gulbenkian Foundation. He has presented Hanz-Werner Henzens popular work El Cimarrón at several festivals. In Finland he has worked for example with composer Riikka Talvitie.
In Lux Musicae-festival Jussi Lehtipuu is a soloist in Lauri Kilpiö’s work Over the Black Water.
