Juho Pohjonen is an internationally recognised pianist, who has captivated audiences with his exceptional talent and unique musical expression.

Pohjonen studied piano at the Sibelius Academy, first in the youth department and later in the soloist department. His studies continued at the renowned Kronberg academy.

He performs as a soloist with known orchestras all around the world and he also holds his own recitals. He has recorded extensively, most recently an acclaimed album by Rameau and Skriabin. Lux Musicae’s concertgoers will thus have the unique opportunity to listen to him play this music by Rameau.

Pohjonen is also interested in computer programming. He has developed and published MyPianist, a virtual accompanist. The Program listens and follows the user playing while reacting to the player’s timings and nuances and with its help can be played both chamber music and concertos with piano accompaniment. Among others the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia has used it to support distance learning.
