Catherine’s fork’s journey to Siuntio

Square

Local identity is important for the Lux Musicae festival. Equally important is offering programs for children and youth, as well as music education.

This time, sixth graders from Siuntio will make a trip to Turku Castle on October 4th. They will learn about the lives of Catherine Jagiellon and Duke John, while also exploring the history of Siuntio. The couple’s honeymoon from Tallinn to Turku, after all, ended with a shipwreck in Siuntio.

In Catherine’s travel chest, they found not only beautiful jewelry and dresses in the latest Parisian fashion but also a fork.

The evening concert on Friday, November 14th, is free for those under 16 and will last an hour. The music will feature medieval vocal and instrumental pieces – with the theme, of course, being love! Parents of the sixth graders: take advantage of this offer! Adults €25.
